All About Entertainment: From Disney Employee to Entrepreneur

Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

For Jennifer Wilson, a former Disney Cast member, the dream of putting smiles on children’s faces became a reality. In 2003, Wilson combined her experience and passion to create All About Entertainment, Inc. Today, the professional entertainment company specializes in corporate and public events serving the Miami-Dade,  Broward and Palm Beach counties.

A New Era in Entertainment

“When I was little, a great party consisted of a cheese pizza and piñata,” Wilson said. “Oh, how times change! Today, parents stress over party plans; burdened with entertainment, décor, and rentals to create wonderful birthday memories for children. AAE helps moms and dads plan the ultimate party.”

AAE provides the highest quality of entertainment and rentals that help solidify each client’s unique event vision. The company sets itself apart and builds trust by providing personalized customer service. AAE genuinely cares about the success of each event as if it was their own party… because it is!

The company has been featured on NBC and serves numerous corporate clients including Aflac, Microsoft, Simon Property Group and Nordstrom. The complete confidence of its clients in the professional quality of its service and performers are priceless!

A Better Knowledge of Business

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at Florida State University has helped 300-plus business owners and nonprofit CEOs gain knowledge and resources to grow their organization. As a graduate of the program, Wilson improved her general business knowledge by using the expertise available in the Small Business Executive Program.

Wilson came to the SBEP in 2015 as a highly creative person, yet lacked business operations knowledge. She credits the SBEP for providing her the business education to become even more successful.

“I earned a degree in communications,” Wilson said. “Lacking business courses, I did not know the business aspect of the company. I sought the help of SBEP. The program taught me how to put together a strategic plan with specific goals, and, most importantly, a pricing structure to make my company profitable.”

While Wilson always felt comfortable planning the details of each event the company booked, it was not until the SBEP provided assets for funding, human resources, banking and legal advice that she had taken control of her business.

“I attended seminars claiming to offer a similar business education as SBEP,” said Wilson. “But they were not as comprehensive and only lasted one or two days. With SBEP, it is more of a classroom setting, and participants realize the opportunity to learn over several months. There was not one class I did not thoroughly love. To this day, I use the strategic planning packet given in that first class. Whether it be a member of the Jim Moran Institute staff or a classmate, everybody I met during the program continues to be a great resource.”

Wilson continues to stay involved with the Jim Moran Institute and has joined the Peer2Peer program. Exclusive to presidents and owners of established businesses, the CEO Peer2Peer Groups provide an avenue for sharing insights about challenging situations, topical issues, and solutions to problems with peers. Wilson meets with her group once a month.

A Magical Feeling

“I feel proud of what AAE offers,” Wilson said. “I know AAE makes a huge difference by creating wonderful memories for all clients and their families. Every day.”
